Government & Community

Cavaye Community Development has unique expertise in the role of government in community development. It assists local, state and federal government agencies build more effective, engaging roles with communities.

CCD helps govenment agencies to:

  • Implement strategies to better balance service delivery and community development,
  • Develop “engaged governance” - enhanced policy, development,structural arrangements and organisational culture for government to better work with communities,
  • Enhance the role of local staff in maintaining agency engagement with communities,
  • Build the skills of staff in community development,
  • Adopt new forms of accountability and evaluation to better measure the contribution of government agency programs to community capacity.

   Jim Cavaye has conducted extensive research into the contribution of government agencies to community social capital. He authored the publication The Role of Government in Community Capacity Building.

Cavaye Community Development offers:
