Evaluating Community Change

Cavaye Community Development designs and implements evaluation frameworks that assess the impact of community initiatives and agency programs.

This allows rigorous yet practical evaluation of impact on community capacity, including social, economic and cultural change in communities.

The frameworks feature

  • Community involvement in evaluation, as opposed to communities being studied from “outside”,
  • Isolating the effects of particular activities from other influences on communities,
  • A logical arrangement of criteria, indicators and methods of measurement,
  • Innovative methods of measuring intangible changes such as community networks and attitudes,
  • A tiered approach that integrates traditional measures of activities and outputs with measures of community processes and community capacity,
  • Workable, practical evaluation that is also comprehensive.
