Community Engagement

Cavaye Community Development helps organisations and communities design and implement appropriate ways to engage with community members. This includes:

  • Linking community contact with existing community involvement and action,
  • Identifying local stakeholders,
  • Appropriate levels of engagement,
  • Efficient, social and family-friendly ways for citizens to participate in their community,
  • A wide range of methods of community involvement,
  • Managing burn-out and avoiding over-consultation,
  • Evaluation of community engagement.

Cavaye Community Development can:

  • develop tailormade plans that invite community members to participate in ways that are appropriate for them,
  • facilitate on-the-ground contact within communities and between communities and government or other organsiations,
  • conduct training workshops in community engagement.

 
Jim Cavaye co-authored the Community Engagement Training Package for Queensland Government. He has also planned and conducted many processes of community engagement.
