Cavaye Community Develpment works with communities, organisations, local government and other agencies to identify assets, assess priorities, develop effective groups and help local people take action.

Community Planning
CCD conducts workshops, community meetings and exercises to engage community members in:

  • Identifying priorities for community improvement,
  • Developing action plans to progress local issues,
  • Following up on actions.
Community Appraisal
Involving local people in assessing their community's situation and pursuing local opportunities. This includes comprehensive feedback from community members and involvement in action.

Group Development
Helping groups avoid the common pitfalls that reduce group effectiveness and assisting them to form and function effectively.

Troubleshooting
Assisting with the management of the practical realities of community action such as conflict management, effective meetings, accessing information and networking.

Asset Mapping
Helping organisations and communities to map and enhance local assets.

Accessing Funding
Provide options for communities to gain funding and resources for community action. This includes identifying appropriate sources of funding and assisting with grant applications.

Community Participation
Providing strategies and options to encourage the participation of local people in their community. This includes appropriate avenues for participation by various community sectors, “temporary commitments” and coping with burnout.
